Are your sure you are not breaking any laws of the Indian IT Act?
Do you know surfing for Bollywood news and watching porn is a form of lawbreaking? Yes , their is an amendment in the Information technology Act 2000 Bill 2006 and it has been passed by the Indian Parliament on December 23, 2008.You can’t ignore this because their are several new clauses introduced into this IT act which may seize you and may be sufficient for awarding you an imprisonment or fine which may extend to ten lakh rupees (10,0000 INR).
I’m quite sure that you may read some of the amendments specially few that are described below:

“Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually
explicit act” This means you are not allowed to watch and surf porn on the net ,computer,mobile or any electronic device.
67A. Whoever publishes or transmits or causes to be published or transmitted in the electronic form any material which contains sexually explicit act or conduct shall be punished on first conviction with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years and with fine which may extend to ten lakh rupees and in the event of second or subsequent conviction with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years and also with fine which may extend to ten lakh rupees.
Are you surfing Bollywood news?
“Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.” This means you are not allowed to surf the Bollywood news.
67. Whoever publishes or transmits or causes to be published or transmitted in
the electronic form, any material which is lascivious or appeals to the prurient interest or if its effect is such as to tend to deprave and corrupt persons who are likely, having regard to all relevant circumstances, to read, see or hear the matter contained or embodied in it, shall be punished on first conviction with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years and with fine which may extend to five lakh rupees and in the event of second or subsequent conviction with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years and also with fine which may extend to ten lakh rupees.
Are you sending vulgar and offensive text messaging (SMS)?
“Punishment for sending offensive messages through communication service” This means if your friend complain about your SMS then you might be captured by the police.
66A. Any person who sends, by means of a computer resource or a
communication device,—
(a) any content that is grossly offensive or has menacing character; or
(b) any content which he knows to be false, but for the purpose of causing
annoyance, inconvenience, danger, obstruction, insult, injury, criminal
intimidation, enmity, hatred or ill will, persistently makes use of such computer
resource or a communication device,shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and with fine.
Explanation.—For the purposes of this section, the term “communication device”
means cell phones, personal digital assistance (PDA) or combination of both or any other device used to communicate, send or transmit any text, video, audio or image.

Note: This amendment is passed after mumbai terror attack and probably government is trying to harder its IT act in order to watch the minor activity of indian resident.But this types of acts aren’t the burden in our freedom ? Do you think government should re filtrate its IT act? Is it a surveillance sovereign? What actually it is? Do you think your breaking the laws? Are you ready to pay the fine or for imprisonment ?
